WELCOME TO THE GREENER SIDE

Doesn’t this feel like one of those history classes that didn’t seem to end? Remember how those 45 mins felt like decades? This lockdown is definitely not one of the many good things that have happened to mankind but has brought to life many of the simplest things which we have been overlooking for a long time now. Any chapter: good or bad teaches us something worth the pain, helps us pass the test. With the larger group of people talking about how this pandemic has vandalized the world and the consequences we are to face in the near future, I would like to discuss about the minute yet significant things it has taught us. This apocalypse is thought to have a major impact on our lifestyle. Surely, the world is going to be a different place and so are we! Amongst the numerous profound changes, I have taken it to myself and listed some positive changes of substantial importance, in this blog, that will make us better beings. 1)    United, we stand From providing aid to staying ind

DREAMS TO DESTINIES: THE PURPOSE OF LIFE

“This is in context of the earlier blog- ‘The Epiphany’ posted on May 9, 2020, where the writer talked about uncovering the purpose of our lives. Through this blog I would like to add my contribution to the subject and, as well, provide an insight. This is more like theory. Conceptual.” -cc- Our lives are just like quests. Quests that begin with dreams and end with destinies. Every soul that dreams has the power to attain its destiny, conquer the absolute! A statement very divisive in itself. Let me put it like this. Every soul that dreams and doesn’t intend to conquer this world attains the power to do so. Now a question arises: If what scripted above is true, every affirmative person, i.e. at least half the people should be able to fulfill the goal of their lives. But this doesn’t happen. Why so? The answer is: People fail the journey at different stages and its merely 1% of them at the start line who make it to the finish line. The journey isn’t that difficul

The Epiphany

Source - Google Ramayana completed its last episode recently and I think I finally experienced the perfect blend of emotions to write about. I don’t remember being so overwhelmed in the last episode of any show (not even “Ben 10” or “Tom and Jerry”). Tears welled up in my eyes (literally) but there was a hinted smile on my face. In fact, I am crying while writing this. Call me over-emotional or sentimental or whatever you like, but if you have watched the climax with the same reverence, I think you’d sympathize with me. It was a mixed feeling, something inexplicable. I was happy as Ram met his fate and completed his journey on Earth by achieving his predestined goal of putting an end to cruelty and malevolence (mostly by the demons), the devotion towards Rama by his devotees and allies made me awestruck and the thought that maybe I was never going to see this show on TV again made me feel immensely sad. Online classes and digital divide in times of COVID-19

Source - Google As the COVID-19 cases rise in India, there is justified pressure to keep universities closed. From schools giving mass promotion to giving online coursework to college students to office staff working from home, the internet is the answer to many problems. But what about the billions of people who can’t get online? Among the many inequalities exposed by COVID-19, the digital divide is not only one of the starkest, but also among the most surprising. Internet access at home is pitifully low in India, particularly those households belonging to rural India, having the worst internet access problems.  According to World Health Organization WHO, 3.7 billion people in the world have no internet access and most of the people reside in the poorer countries, where the need to spread information on how to combat COVID-19 is most urgent. According to data collected by the National Sample Survey as a part of the Survey on Education (2014), only 27%   of households in In
